David Turner brings 20+ years of experience in recruiting and business development, plus a career path that’s anything but ordinary.
Before joining Avosina Healthcare Solutions, David built his reputation in professional football across the NFL, CFL, Arena Football, and the original UFL. He started as an operations intern with the Miami Dolphins, moved into pro personnel with the New York Giants, and then spent several seasons with the Oakland Raiders, working in both college and pro scouting, eventually becoming Assistant Director of Pro Personnel.
From there, David stepped into leadership roles with the Hartford Colonials (Director of Player Personnel), then headed to Arizona to join the Arizona Rattlers, where he helped win three championships. After that, the NFL came calling again and David joined the Carolina Panthers in college scouting.
Next came the CFL: David was hired as Director of Player Personnel for the Edmonton Elks, commuting from Arizona while helping the organization break a three-year drought and return to the playoffs, coming within striking distance of a Grey Cup appearance.
Strategy that travels well
Alongside his football career, David founded Maverick Sports Consulting, which he still runs today. He’s often brought in by professional and collegiate organizations to sharpen recruiting and draft strategy, and he also works with athletes to improve marketability, interview skills, and long-term opportunity.
At Avosina, David brings that same strategic lens equal parts relationship driven and creative helping partners spot opportunities, build momentum, and grow with confidence.
Off the field
David is based in Tempe, Arizona, and is a proud dad of two. His son is studying pharmaceutical technology at St. John’s University, and his daughter keeps life lively with theater, cheer, and French horn.
He’s also a devoted “fur dad” to Charlie, whose full government name is Charles Entertainment Cheese
(yes, really).
